Snowboard Program

Led by Olympic Gold Medalist Ross Powers '97, the SMS Snowboard Program is recognized as one of the top programs in the country 
While having one of the most rewarding experiences in their young lives, our committed and goal-oriented athletes have access to state-of-the-art training facilities, including the Simpson Center for Action Sports, which features a state-of-the-art progression ramp, skate park area, mini ramps, and weight room section, as well as a foam pit, two trampolines, and a super-trampoline. More importantly, full-time, on-campus coaches guide every aspect of training. Snowboarding athletes have garnered medals at local, regional, national, and international levels. Noah Avallone ’25
  • Placed 30th in his first FIS World Cup halfpipe at Copper, CO
  • Placed 18th in his second FIS World Cup halfpipe at Mammoth, CA.
  • Renamed to the 2023-24 US Snowboard Rookie Halfpipe Team.
Connor Cavanagh ’23
  • Won the Mount Snow and Northstar at Tahoe Futures Tour slopestyle events.
  • Placed 28th in his first FIS World Cup halfpipe at Copper, CO.
  • Placed 19th in his second FIS World Cup halfpipe at Mammoth, CA.
