College Counseling & Acceptances
The College Guidance Department at Stratton Mountain School works closely with each student-athlete to assure several options for the future that will lead to continued success for our graduates as they move forward with their educational, athletic, and personal goals.
Beginning Junior Year...
The college selection process begins in earnest during the junior year as student-athletes meet with their counselor, engage in challenging academic curricula, prepare for the SAT, train and compete in their chosen sports, and develop a list of schools to which they will apply. The counselor works in close coordination with SMS coaches, various college coaches, and parents to seek schools that will challenge and reward our students academically and athletically. Our ultimate goal is to help each student-athlete identify and gain admission to the best colleges for their individual needs. Stratton Mountain School
Stratton Mountain School is an independent boarding and day school that focuses on college preparatory academics and competitive winter sports. Located at the base of Stratton Mountain, SMS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
